Suyin Geddes | Dentist

The most rewarding thing for me as a dentist is to help a nervous patient get their smile back and feel more confident and relaxed about their experience. Jane Bracken and I are both dental-phobia certified dentists, and it’s important that I always treat my patients the way I’d like to be treated, which is gently!

I grew up in Jersey, going to Jersey College for Girls before heading to Kings College, London to study a BSc in Medical Biochemistry followed by Dentistry at Bristol in 2013. After working in general practice in Sussex and achieving PGCert and distinction in an MSc in Primary Dental Care, I moved back to the island to join the Bracken Barrett team. One of the highlights of my career was being selected as a 2016 finalist in the Best Young Dentist category at both the Dentistry Awards and Private Dentistry Awards.

At Bracken Barrett, we try and do everything we can to make things easier for our patients. I’ve been training in sedation so that I can ensure my patients can have a worry-free treatment experience. Cosmetic work is also something I’m passionate about, and from teeth straightening to whitening, bonding and dentures, we can do everything in-house. It’s always so rewarding when you see your patients’ reactions and the difference it can make to their lives. Things you might not know about me? I make a good carrot cake – it’s a recipe that won me a couple of baking competitions at medical school, and the secret is to use oil instead of butter!
