Orthodontics and Braces

Orthodontics helps to align teeth that are crooked or crowded to improve their function and your appearance. Misaligned jaws or teeth not only affect your appearance, but can also make eating, chewing and even speaking clearly a challenge. At Bracken Barrett we can get your mouth back into good working order, with the help of our dentists in correcting problems with the jaws, teeth and mouth.

Orthodontics can involve having braces fitted onto your teeth to gradually straighten them into the desired position, or thin, clear, flexible plastic aligners that you can remove. You might think that only teenagers wear braces, but orthodontics can be suitable for anyone who wants to improve the function or appearance of their teeth and smile.

There are many options to consider when you’re thinking of having braces fitted, including the type of braces that are most suitable for you, how they look and your budget.  We will go through all the options and types of treatment with you to help you decide which is the best orthodontic treatment available for you and to give you the results you want.

Orthodontists frequently apply braces during the early teen years when permanent teeth have replaced baby teeth, but work on some problems can begin earlier. Some of the problems corrected by dental braces include: over-bite (which is where the top front teeth overlap the bottom teeth), under-bite (lower teeth extend beyond top teeth), misaligned teeth and other jaw problems.

Orthodontic treatment at Bracken Barrett is carried out by orthodontists and dentists that have undergone dedicated training, so you can be rest assured that you and your smile are in the safest of hands!
